Awesome DESIGN.md Files, Audited

awesome-design-md is VoltAgent's community collection of 74 DESIGN.md files, each extracted from a public website. We ran every file through Google's official linter, @google/design.md 0.4.0, and publish the result for each one below: errors, warnings, WCAG AA contrast findings, orphaned color tokens and an approximate context cost.

How the audit was run

On October 5, 2026 we resolved the current main commit of VoltAgent/awesome-design-md (13be5c0), downloaded that snapshot and linted each of its 74 design-md/<folder>/DESIGN.md files with the lint function of @google/design.md 0.4.0, the same function the CLI runs for lint --format=json. The most recent commit that touched the design-md folder is dated June 8, 2026. Names and categories come from the collection list in the repository README; a file the list does not include shows its folder name and "Not listed".

Errors and warnings: The linter's own summary counts for the file. A warning-free file has zero warnings.
WCAG AA contrast: Findings of the contrast-ratio rule: a component whose textColor on backgroundColor falls below the WCAG AA minimum of 4.5:1.
Orphaned colors: Findings of the orphaned-tokens rule, one for each color token that no component references.
Approx. tokens: The file's character count divided by four, rounded: a rough estimate of the context an agent spends reading it, the same estimate the July 2026 analysis used.
n/a: 10 files have no YAML front matter and 3 contain YAML the parser rejects. For those the linter reports a single warning and cannot check tokens, so contrast and orphaned counts do not apply.

What the most common findings mean

Orphaned color tokens (684 in 61 files). Colors defined in the front matter that no component uses. An agent reads them without being told when to apply them. See the orphaned-tokens rule.
Unrecognized component properties (466 in 20 files). Component keys outside the spec's list, such as borders, shadows and descriptions, reported as broken-ref warnings. The spec accepts them with a warning, so the files still load. See the broken-ref rule.
WCAG AA contrast (178 in 41 files). A component's text and background colors fall below 4.5:1, so an agent that reuses the pair as written ships text that fails AA. See the contrast-ratio rule.
Unrecognized typography properties (16 in 10 files). New in 0.4.0: typography keys the spec does not define. These warnings carry no rule id. See the typography guide.
The two rules added in 0.4.0, token-like-ignored and omitted-rules, report 0 findings in this collection.

The DESIGN.md files belong to the VoltAgent/awesome-design-md collection by VoltAgent, released under the MIT License. This page does not copy them: every row links to the file at the audited commit, and the viewer loads it from GitHub in your browser. The counts on this page are md-design.io's own lint results.
